Eqn 1 gives

2x=4+y

=x=(4+y)/2

eqn 2 gives

4x-2y=6

=2x-y=3 [dividing by 2]

putting the value of x in eqn 2

2×(4+y)/2-y=3

=0=-1

which is not possible

From the two equations we get that

a1/a2=b1/b2 but not equal to c1/c2

So, the equation has infinite number if solutions...
