\dfrac{3x \:  -  \: 1}{4x \:  +  \: 3} = \dfrac{5}{11}

=> \dfrac{3x \:  -  \: 1}{4x \:  +  \: 3} = \dfrac{5}{11}

• Cross-multiply them

=> 11(3x - 1) = 5(4x + 3)

=> 33x - 11 = 20x + 15

=> 33x - 20x = 15 + 11

=> 13x = 26

=> x = \dfrac{26}{13}
