x = -2 and y = -5

Explanation:

3x − 2y = 4 ---- (1)

5x − 2y = 0 ---- (2)

Subtracting equation (2) from equation (1), we get: -2x = 4. So x = -4/ 2 = -2

Substituting x = -2 in equation 2, we get: -10 = 2y

y = -10 / 2

y = -5

Hence solved. x = -2 and y = -5.

If you draw a graph for the equations, you will get two straight lines. The co-ordinates of the point of intersection of the two lines will be the solution. The co-ordinates will be (-2, -5).
