$\sqrt[6]{x} - 2 = 1 \\ \sqrt[6]{x} = 1 + 2 \\ x = {3}^{6} \\ x = 729$

(ii)

$\sqrt[2]{x} = {2}^{8} \\ squaring \: both \: side \\ \\ x \: = {({2}^{8} )}^{2} \\ x \: = {2}^{2 \times 8} = {2}^{16} = 65536$
