Solve the given pair of linear equation by Substitution method: 5x + 8y = 18, 2x – 3y = 1.

Answer:

x=1+3y/2 put the value in 2nd equation.

5((1+3y)/2)+8y=18

(5+15y)/2 +8y = 18

5+15y+16y=18*2

31y=36+5

31y=39

y=39/31

put value of y in

x=(1+3y)2

x=17+9/31
