2x + 3y = 6 .....(i)
x + y = 8......(ii)
multiplying equation (ii) with 2 and subtract both the equation
2x + 3y = 6
2x + 2y = 16

y = -10
now from equation (ii)
x+ (-10) =8
x -10 =8
x =8+10
x =18
hence x= 18 & y =-10
