(i) We have been given that:-

SP = Rs. 924

Gain = 10%

We also know that:-

Gain = $\frac{SP-CP}{CP}$ x 100

According to question:-

10 =  $\frac{924-CP}{CP}$ x 100

Transposing:-

10CP = 92400 - 100CP

110CP = 92400

CP =  $\frac{92400}{110}$

CP = 840

(ii) We have been given that:-

SP = Rs. 8510

Loss = 8%

We also know that:-

Loss =  $\frac{CP-SP}{CP}$ x 100

So, according to question:-

8 =  $\frac{CP-8510}{CP}$ x 100

Transposing:-

8CP = 100CP - 851000

92CP = 851000

CP =  $\frac{851000}{92}$

CP = 9250
