Hi ,

This problem related to proportion:

Proportion:
_________

The equality of two ratios is called

Proportion.

In a proportion , the first and fourth

terms are known as Extremes , while

second and third terms are known as

Means.

If a : b = c : d , we write a : b : : c : d

and we say that a, b , c , d are in

proportion.

Then
a × d = b × c

According to the given problem:

18 : 30 : : 36 : x
a =18 ;
b = 30 ;
c = 36;

Let d = x ;

18 × x = 30 × 36

x = ( 30 × 36 )/ 18

x = 30 × 2

x = 60

Therefore required number = d = x = 60

I hope this will useful to u.

Answer: The answer is 66

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the first number be x

The second number is 2x-6
