solve the given sum 8-3 (u+4) = u

8-3(u+4)=u
8-3u-12=u
-3u-4=u
-3u-4-u=0
-4u-4=0
-4u=4
u=-1

8 - 3(u + 4) = u \\ 8 - 3u - 12 = u \\ 8 - 12 - 3u - u = 0 \\  - 4 - 4u = 0 \\  - u =   \frac{4}{4}  \\ u =  - 1
