solve the inequality 3x-2<2x+1<4x+17

Answer:

$3x - 2 < 2x + 1 \\ 3x -2x < 1 + 2 \\ x < 3$

$2x + 1 < 4x + 17 \\ 2x - 4x < 17 - 1 \\ - 2x < 16 \\ x > - 8$

so

$- 8 < x < 3$
