Given : 7 x + 3 < 5 x + 9

Solution : = > 7 x + 3 < 5 x + 9

• Adding - 3 on both sides,

= > 7x + 3 - 3 < 5x + 9 - 3

= > 7x < 5x + 6

• Adding - 5x on both sides,

= > 7x - 5x < 5x + 6 - 5x

= > 2x < 5x - 5x + 6

= > 2x < 6

• Divide by 2 on both sides,

= > \dfrac{2x}{2} < \dfrac{6}{2} \\ \\ = > x < 3

Therefore the solution set is { ......0 , 1 , 2 }
