• 6x – 5 = 2x + 9

• 6x - 2x = 9 + 5

• 4x = 14

• x = 14/4

• x = 7/2

• x = 3.5

• Put x=3.5 in equation (1)

• 6(3.5) - 5 = 2(3.5) + 9

• 21 - 5 = 7 + 9

• 16 = 16 Hence Proved.
