Given,x+7−8x/3=17/6−5x/2

⟹3x+21−8x/3=

17−15x/6 [Taking LCM on LHS and RHS]

⟹−5x+21/3 =17−15x/6

⟹−5x + 21 =

17−15x/2 [Multiplying both sides by 3]

⟹2 (−5x + 21) = 17−

15x [By cross−multiplication]

⟹−10x + 42 = 17 − 15x

⟹−10x+15x=17−

42 [Transposing−15x to LHS and 42 to RHS]

⟹5x=−25

⟹x=−5 [Divide both sides by 5]
