2/3x +3/4y=1/12

(8x+9y)/12=1/12

8x+9y=1......................(1)

now

3x/4y-2/3y = -1/2

(9x-8)/12y =-1/2

9x-8=-6y

9x +6y =8......................(2)

on multiplying (1) with 9 and (2)

with 8, we get

72x +81y =9.............(3)

72x +48y=64.............(4)

on subtracting (4) from (3)

we get ;

33y=-55

y=-55/33

y =-5/3

put value of y in (1)

8x+9×(-5/3)=1

8x -15=1

8x =14

x=14/8

x=7/4

Hence , x=7/4 and y=-5/3.
