Given :

  • Let,
  1. Queen = a
  2. Pawn = b
  3. Bishop = c
  4. Rook = d
  5. Knight = f
  6. King = g
  • The equations are,
  1. (a+b) + (a+b) + (a+b) = 30
  2. (c+d) + (c+d) + (a+d) = 35
  3. (f+b) + (f+b) + (f+b) = 18
  4. b+b = f
  5. f+b = c
  6. c + (d x f) - a = (g + b)

To find :

  • Value of King(g)

Solution :

  • Substituting the value of f from equation (4) in equation (3),

        (b+b+b) + (b+b+b) + (b+b+b) = 18

     ∴ 9b = 18

     ∴ b = 2

  • Substituting b = 2 in equation (4),

        2+2 = f

     ∴ f = 4

  • Substituting f = 4 and b = 2 in equation (5),

        4 + 2 = c

      ∴ c = 6

  • Substituting b = 2 in equation (1),

        (a + 2) + (a+2) + (a+2) = 30

     ∴ 3 a = 24

     ∴ a = 8

  • Substituting c = 6 and a = 8 in equation (2),

        (6+d) + (6+d) + (8 + d) = 35

     ∴ 3 d = 15

     ∴ d = 5

  • Substituting a = 8, b = 2, c = 6, d = 5, f = 4 in equation (6),

        6 + (5×4) - 8 = g+2

    ∴ g = 16

Answer : The value of king is 16.
