Solution

Given :-

  • x - 2y = -3 ______(1)
  • 4x - y = -2 ______(2)

Find :-

  • Value of x & y , by Substitution method.

Explanation

Substitution Method

By equ(1),

  • x = -3 + 2y ________(3)

Keep value of x in equ(2)

➡ 4(-3+2y) - y = -2

➡-12 + 8y - y = -2

➡7y = -2 + 12

➡7y = 10

➡y = 10/7

Keep Value of y in equ(3)

➡x = (-3 + 2×10/7)

➡x = (-3 + 20/7)

➡x = (-21 + 20)/7

➡x = -1/7

Hence

  • Value of x = -1/7
  • Value of y = 10/7
