multiply equation (1) by 2 and (2) by 7.
16x + 14y = 30xy______(3)
49x - 14y = 35xy_____,(4)

Adding equation (1) & (2)

16x + 14y = 30xy.
+49x - 14y = 35xy

-33x. = -5xy

-33x = -5xy
-33x/x = -5y
-33 = - 5y
-33/-5=y
33/5=y
y= 6.6
