3x =4+2y

x= 4+2y/3. -------(eqn. 1)

x-4y=18----------(eqn.2)

by both equations

4+2y/3 -4y -18 = 0

-12y+4+2y/3 =18

-10y+4=18(3)

-10y=54-4

y =50/-10

y =-5

now substitute value of y in 2nd eqn.

x=4+2y/3

x=4+(-10)/3

x=-6/3

x=-2

so x=-2 and y=-5
