2x + 3y = 11 .......(i)

2x - 4y = -24......(ii)

Using substitution method,

Here from (ii) we get,

2x - 4y = -24

2x = -24 + 4y

x = (-24 + 4y) ÷ 2

x = -24 ÷ 2 + 4y ÷ 2

x = -12 + 2y...........(iii)

Substitute value of x in (i), we get,

 2(-12 + 2y) + 3y = 11

-24 + 4y + 3y = 11

7y = 11 + 24

7y = 35

y = 35 ÷ 7

y = 5

Put value of y in (iii)

= -12 + 2y

= -12 + 2(5)

= -12 + 10

= -2

We Get Value of x = -2 and y = 5
