2x + y =17 - - - - (1)
17x - 11y =8 - - - - (2)
from equation (1)
y = 17 - 2x
Put this value in equation (2)
17x - 11 ( 17 - 2x) = 8
17x - 187 - 22x = 8
-5x - 187 = 8
-5x = 8+187
-5x = 195
x = 195/5
x = - 39
put x =( - 39) in equation (1)
2×(- 39) + y = 17
-58 + y = 17
y = 17 + 58
y = 75
17x - 11y =8 - - - - (2)
from equation (1)
y = 17 - 2x
Put this value in equation (2)
17x - 11 ( 17 - 2x) = 8
17x - 187 - 22x = 8
-5x - 187 = 8
-5x = 8+187
-5x = 195
x = 195/5
x = - 39
put x =( - 39) in equation (1)
2×(- 39) + y = 17
-58 + y = 17
y = 17 + 58
y = 75
