Solution

Given :-

  • 3x + 2y = -4 ---------(1)
  • 3x - 2y = -8 ----------(2)

Find :-

  • Value of x & y by, elimination method .

Explanation

Elimination Method

Subtract equ(1) & equ(2). ( Eliminate x )

We get,

==> 2y + 2y = -4 + 8

==> 4y = 4

==> y = 4/4

==> y = 1

Keep Value of y in equ(1)

==> 3x + 2 * 1 = -4

==> 3x = -4 - 2

==> 3x = -6

==>x = -6/3

==>x = -2

Hence

  • Value of x = -2
  • Value of y = 1

Answer Verification

Case(1).

Keep value of x & y in equ(1)

==> 3 * -2 + 2 * 1 = -4

==> -6 + 2 = -4

==> -4 = -4

L.H.S. = R.H.S.

Case(2).

Keep value of x & y in equ(2)

==> 3 * -2 - 2 * 1 = -8

==> -6 - 2 = -8

==> -8 = -8

L.H.S. = R.H.S.

That's Proved
