x = 3 , y = 1

Solution :

Here ,

The given equations are :

x - y = 2 --------(1)

x + y = 4 --------(2)

Now ,

Adding eq-(1) and (2) , we get ;

=> x - y + x + y = 2 + 4

=> 2x = 6

=> x = 6/2

=> x = 3

Now ,

Putting x = 3 in eq-(2) , we get ;

=> x + y = 4

=> 3 + y = 4

=> y = 4 - 3

=> y = 1

Hence ,

x = 3 , y = 1
