solve the pair of linear equations 3x-y=3 and 7x+2y=20

Solution:-

using elimination method,we get,

=>. 7 ( 3x-y=3)____ (1)

=>. 3 (7x+2y=20)______(2)

we get,

+ 21x - 7y=21

+ 21x+6y=60

- - -

sign changes,

then,both equation (1) &(2) 21x will cancel out, we get ,

=> --13 y= -39

both side (-)sign cancel out,

=> y = 3

Put y = 3 in equation (1) then,we get,,

=> 3x - 3= 3

=> 3x = 6

=> x = 2

Hence, x is 2 & y is 3
