Hey...!! HERE IS YOUR ANSWER...!!

3x + 2y = 12
x = 12 - 2y / 3.........(1)......

5x - 2y = 4
x = 4 + 2y / 5..........(2).....

FROM EQN... 1 AND 2 ,

12 - 2y / 3 = 4 + 2y / 5
60 - 10y = 12 + 6y
60 - 12 = 6y + 10y
16y = 48
y = 3....

SUBSTITUTE THE VALUE OF Y IN EQN. 1

x = 12 - 2y / 3
x = 12 - 2×3 / 3
x = 12 - 6 / 3
x = 6 / 3
x = 2.....

\textbf{x = 2 ; y = 3}

HOPE IT'S WILL HELP YOU A LOT...!!

The solution of a pair of linear equations is (2,3); i.e.  \bf \: x = 2 \: and \: y = 3.

Given:

  • A pair of linear equations.
  • 3x + 2y = 12 \\ and
  • 5x - 2y = 4 \\

To find:

  • Solve the pair of linear equations by elimination method.

Solution:

Step 1:

Add both equations.

Let

3x + 2y = 12 \: ...eq1

and

5x - 2y = 4 \:  \: ...eq2 \\

Add both eqs 1 and 2.

3x + 2y = 12 \\ 5x - 2y = 4 \\  -  -  -  -  -  -  \\ 8x = 16 \\  -  -  -  -  -  -  \\

\implies x =  \frac{16}{8}  \\

 \implies \: \bf x = 2 \\

Step 2:

Find the value of y.

Put value of x in eq2.

5(2) - 2y = 4 \\

10 - 2y = 4 \\

 \implies - 2y = 4 - 10 \\

 \implies  2y = 6 \\

 \implies y =  \frac{6}{2}  \\

 \implies \bf y = 3 \\ \\

Thus,

The solution of a pair of linear equations is (2,3); i.e.  \bf \: x = 2 \: and \: y = 3.
