reactions :

Reaction 1 :

Iron + Copper sulphate \longrightarrow⟶ Iron sulphate + Copper

Reaction 2 :

Iron sulphate + Copper \rightarrow→ Iron sulphate + Copper

Reaction 2 will not occur as Iron is more reactive than copper , so copper could not replace iron from iron sulphate .

Type of reaction between copper sulphate solution and iron : Displacement reaction .

Displacement reaction : A reaction in which an element replaces the less reactive element from its compound forming another compound with the anion is called single displacement reaction .
