Answer:

-2x+5y=9 (1)Subtracting (2) from (1)

2x+5y=15 (2)

(-) (-) (-)

-4x= -6

x=3/2

Substituting x=3/2 in (2)

2(3/2)+5y=15

3+5y=15

5y=15-3

5y=12

y=12/5

Verifying in (1)

-2(3/2)+5(12/5)=9

-3+12=9

9=9

Verifying in (2)

2(3/2)+5(12/5)=15

3+12=15

15=15

Since,in both cases LHS=RHS

Hence,the given solution is:

x =  \frac{3}{2}

y =  \frac{12}{5}

Hope it helps......
