GIVEN :-

  • (2x - 3)/(4x + 5) = 1/3

TO FIND :-

  • The value of x.

SOLUTION :-

  \\ : \implies \displaystyle \sf \: \dfrac{2x - 3}{4x + 5} = \dfrac{1}{3} \\ \\ \\

 \bullet \: \displaystyle \sf \: by \: cross \: multiplication. \\ \\ \\

 : \implies \displaystyle \sf \: 1(4x + 5) = 3(2x - 3) \\ \\ \\

 : \implies \displaystyle \sf \: 4x + 5 = 6x - 9 \\ \\ \\

 : \implies \displaystyle \sf \: 4x - 6x = - 9 - 5 \\ \\ \\

 : \implies \displaystyle \sf \: - 2x = - 14 \\ \\ \\

 : \implies \displaystyle \sf \: x = \frac{ - 14}{ - 2} \\ \\ \\

 : \implies \displaystyle \sf \: x = \frac{14}{2} \\ \\ \\

 : \implies \underline{ \boxed{\displaystyle \sf \: x = 7}} \\ \\

 \therefore \underline{\displaystyle \sf \: value \ of \ x \ is \ 7} \\ \\
