2pir(r + h) = 6512   ----------- (1)

Given that circumference of its base =88cm.

2pir = 88     ------------ (2)

2 * 22/7 * r = 88

44/7 * r = 88

44r = 88 * 7

44r = 616

r = 14cm.   -------- (3)

Substitute (2,3) in (1), we get

88(r + h) = 6512

88(14 + h) = 6512

14 + h = 6512/88

14 + h = 74

h = 74 - 14

h = 60cm.


(ii) We know that volume of the cylinder = pir^2h

                                                                   = 22/7 * (14)^2 * 60

                                                                   = 22 * 2 * 14 * 60

                                                                   = 36960cm^3.
