In a class test containing 15 questions, 4 marks are given for every correct answer and -2 marks are given for every incorrect answer
i) Bharathi attempts all questions but only 9 answer are correct. What is her total score?
ii) One of her friends Hema attempts only 5 questions and all are correct. What will be her total score?
solution:
total no of questions are 15
4 marks for every correct answer
-2 marks are for every incorrect answer
i) Bharathi attempts all questions but 9 answer are correct
so, Bharathi attempts no of wrong answers = 15-9 = 6
so, total mark obtained by Bharathi = 9×4 - 2×6 = 36 - 12 = 24 marks
ii) One of her friends Hema attempts only 5 questions and all are correct
so, total score of marks obtained by Hema = 5×4 = 20 marks
