Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

L H.S = (1 + cosx - sin²x)/(sinx(1+cosx))

= (cosx + cos²x)/{ sinx ( 1 + cox )} [ as sin²x + cos²x = 1]

= cosx(1 + cosx) / { sinx ( 1 + cosx)}

= cosx/sinx

= cotx = R.H.S

Hence, proved.
