The solutions for the given quadratic equation 2x² - x - 6 = 0 are x = 2 and x = -3/2.

• The given quadratic equation is :

2x² - x - 6 = 0

( The second term has to broken into two terms in a way that their multiplication results in the product of the first and third terms, and their addition or subtraction results in the second term itself )

=>  2x² - 4x + 3x - 6 = 0

=>  2x (x - 2) + 3(x - 2) = 0

=>  (x - 2) + (2x + 3) = 0

=>  x - 2 = 0 , 2x + 3 = 0

=> x = 2,  x = -3/2

• Therefore, the values of x are 2 and -3/2.
