Hi there

Your answer is :-

2x^2 + 1x - 6 = 0

2x^2 + x - 6 = 0

2x^2 + 4x - 3x - 6 = 0

2x ( x + 2 ) - 3 ( x + 2 ) = 0

( x + 2 ) × ( 2x - 3 ) = 0

◆ x + 2 = 0

x = -2

◆ 2x - 3 = 0

2x = 3

x = 3/2 ( Ans )

Thank You

x = 3/2     and       x =-2

Factoring  2x^2+1x-6

The first term is,  2x^2  its coefficient is  2 .

The middle term is,  1x  its coefficient is  1 .

The last term, "the constant", is  -6

Multiply the coefficient of the first term and last term   2 x -6 = -12

Find two factors of  -12  whose sum equals the coefficient of the middle term, which is   1 .

i.e,

     4  -    3    =     1

Rewrite the polynomial splitting the middle term using the two factors found in step above,  4  and  3

                  2x^2+4x-3x-6

Add up the first 2 terms, pulling out like factors :

                 2x(x+2)

Add up the last 2 terms, pulling out common factors :

                 -3(x+2)

Add up the four terms, we get

         2x(x+2)-3(x+2)

   ⇒  (2x-3)(x+2)

so, we the value of x are

x=3/2   and    x = -2
