The equation can be solved as follows

\to 5(x+1)^2 + 10(x+1)+3=0

For simplicity put  x+1 = y

\to 5y^2 +10y+3=0

Using quadratic formula,

\to y = \frac{-10±\sqrt{10^2 - 4.5.3} }{2.5}

\to y = \frac{-10±\sqrt{100 - 60} }{10}

\to y = \frac{-10±\sqrt{40}}{10}

\to y = \frac{-10± 6.3246}{10}

\to y = \frac{-10+6.3246}{10}, \frac{-10-6.3246}{10}

\to y = \frac{-3.6754}{10}, \frac{-16.3246}{10}

\to y = - 0.36754, -1.63246

\to x+1 = - 0.36754, -1.63246

\to x = - 1 - 0.36754, - 1 -1.63246

\to x = - 1.36754, - 2.63246

Rounding off to two decimal places, we get

\to x = - 1.37, - 2.63
