Answer:

{2,5}

Step-by-step explanation:

so,

solve                                :  x² - 7x + 10 = 0

Factor the left side        =  (x-2)(x-5)=0

Set each factor to zero =   x - 2= 0 or x - 5= 0

Solve each equation      :   x = 2 or x=5

Thus,

The solution set is {2,5}

Solve the quadratic equation by Factorization x2 - 7x +10 = 0

     We have to do this sum following the steps.

  • The above equation can also be written in the form of :-

      x2 - 5x - 2x + 10 = 0           ( splitting the middle term )

  • Now factorizing x from the first term of the expression
  • ( x2 - 5x ) and factorizing 2 from the second term of the expression i( -2x + 10).
  • After factorizing the resulting equation we get
  • x ( x - 5 ) - 2 ( x  5 ) = 0
  • Now using distributive property we get  ( x - 2 ) ( x - 5 ) = 0

    ⇒ x2 - 7x +10 = 0

    ⇒ x² - 5x - 2x + 10 = 0

    ⇒x ( x -5) -2 ( x -5)

    ⇒( x-5) ( x -2) = 0

    ∴ (x-5)= 0 x =5

              or

       (x-2)= 0 x=2

      Ans :- x = 5, 2
