⇒ 12 - x - 6x² = 5x

Now,

Dividing (1) by 6,

⇒ x² + x - 2 = 0

Factorize it :-

⇒ x² + 2x - x - 2 = 0

⇒ x(x + 2) - 1(x + 2) = 0

⇒ (x + 2)(x - 1)

⇒ x + 2 = 0

⇒ x = -2

Or,

⇒ x - 1 = 0

⇒ x = 1

Hence,

x = 1 and -2
