p(x) = 5x²+13x+8

Splitting the middle term :

5x²+5x+8x+8

=> 5x(x+1)+8(x+1)

=> (5x+8)(x+1)

Answer:

-1.6 , -1

Step-by-step explanation:

5 x square + 13 x + 8 is equal to zero

5 x² + 13 x + 8 = 0

x = (-13 ± √ 169 -160) ÷ 10

x = (-13 ± √ 9 ) ÷ 10

x = (-13 ± 3 ) ÷ 10

x = (-13 - 3 ) ÷ 10 , (-13+ 3 ) ÷ 10

x = -16÷ 10 , -10 ÷ 10

x = -1.6 , -1
