Answer:

Question :-

solve the quadratic equation x2 + 3x = 10 by factorization method.

Solution :-

let's first arrange the given quadratic polynomial in standard form ax² + bx + c

 {x}^{2}  + 3x - 10 = 0

Now let's factorise by splitting the middle term in such a way that some should be 3x and multiplication should be minus 10

 {x}^{2}  - 2x + 5x - 10

 = x(x  - 2) - 5(x - 2)

 = (x - 5)(x - 2)

Finding zeroes :-

i ) x - 5 = 0⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ii ) x - 2 = 0 ⠀⠀⠀

x = 5⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀x = 2

So, the value of x²+3x-10 is zero when x - 5 = 0 or x - 2, i.e., when x = +5 or x = +2 therefore the zeroes of x²+ 3x- 10 are five and ten.
