a) Fleming's Left Hand Rule

b) DC Motor

c) (See net)

d) When current is passed through a current-carrying coil, lying in a magnetic field, following Fleming's Left Hand Rule, the coil rotates in a particular direction (clockwise or anti-clockwise). After every 90 degree rotation, the carbon brushes, which connect the coil to the circuit, loses contact with the circuit. However it continues with another 90 degree rotation due to inertia of rotational motion. After every 180 degree rotation, the solution ring commutation reverses direction of current flowing through the coil so that current continues to rotate in the same direction.
