we know that the car will be moving with is maximum speed at the end of the time when it was moving with constant acceleration (say @)..

let it accelerate for t1 time ..

let it accelerate for t1 time ..so,it will decelerate in (t-t1) time...

now,

v after time t1(v max)=0+@t1

=>v max=@t1

now,it decelerate for (t-t1) time with const. retardation (beta)...

=>0=@t1 - (beta)*(t-t1)

=>t1=beta*t/(alpha +beta)

so, maximum velocity=alpha *beta*t /(alpha+beta)
