✫ Correct Question :

  • ➼ The radius of a circular pipe is 10 cm. What is the length of tape required to wrap around the pipe? (π = 3.14)

✫ Required Solution :

✰ Values given to us :

  • ➼ Radius of pipe = 10cm

  • ➼ For calculating tape required to cover pipe we have to find circumference of pipe

  • ✰ Circumference of circle = 2πr

✫ Putting value given :

  • ➼ 2 × 3.14 × 10

  • ➼ 62.8 cm

✫ Finally :

➼ ✰ we require 62.8 cm tape ✰

EXPLANATION.

Radius of a circular pipe is = 10 cm.

Length of a trap is required to wrap once around the pipe.

As we know that,

Circumference of pipe = 2πr.

Put the values in the equation, we get.

Length of trap required = 2 x 3.14 x 10.

Length of trap required  = 2 x 314/100 x 10.

Length of trap required  = 314/5.

Length of trap required  = 62.8 cm.
