Answer:

c) -3

Step-by-step explanation:

since the HCF of f(x) and g(x) is(x+3)(x-3)

therefore f(x) is divisible by (x+3)(x-3)

after dividing f(x) with the HCF

we obtain q(x)=3x+2

r(x)=6-a

but , since f(x) is divisible by HCF

so remainder should be zero

6-a=0

a=6

similarly by dividing g(x) with the HCF and comparing remainder we obtain b=-9

there for a + b =6-9=-3
