1] x / 2 + x = 9

Multiply both the sides by 2

∴ x + 2x = 18

Calculate

∴ 3x = 18

Divide both the sides by 3

∴ x = 6

∴ The value of x is \boxed{\boxed{\textsf{6}}}

3] 3x / 4 + 4x = 38

Multiply both the sides by 4

∴ 3x + 16x = 152

Calculate

∴ 19x = 152

Divide both the sides by 19

∴ x = 8

∴ The value of x is \boxed{\boxed{\textsf{8}}}

5] x / 3 - x / 4 = 2

Multiply both the sides by 12, because 4 × 3 is 12 (Multiplication of denominators)

➾ 4x - 3x = 24

➾ x = 24

∴ The value of x is \boxed{\boxed{\textsf{24}}}

SOLUTION:-

1) \frac{x}{2}  + x = 9

 =  >  \frac{x + 2x}{2}  = 9

 =  >  \frac{3x}{2}  = 9

 =  > 3x = 9 \times 2

 =  > 3x = 18

 =  > x =  \frac{18}{3}

  =  > x = 6

2) \:  \frac{3x}{4}  + 4x = 38

 =  >  \frac{3x + 16x}{4}  = 38

 =  >  \frac{19x}{4}  = 38

 =  > 19x = 38 \times 4

 =  > x =  \frac{38 \times 4}{19}

 =  > x = 8

3) \:  \frac{x}{3}  -  \frac{x}{4}  = 2

 =  > \frac{4x  - 3x}{12}  = 2

 =  >  \frac{x}{12}  = 2

 =  > x = 2 \times 12

 =  > x = 24
