given xy=640

2 log_{10}(x)  -  log_{10}(y)  = 2

 log_{10}( {x}^{2} ) -  log_{10}(y) = 2

 log_{10}( \frac{ {x}^{2} }{y} ) = 2

 \frac{ {x}^{2} }{y}  = 100

x = 10 \sqrt{y}

 \frac{640}{y}  = 10 \sqrt{y}

 {y}^{ \frac{3}{2} } = 64

y = {64}^{ \frac{2}{3} }

y = 16

xy = 640 \\ x \times 16 = 640 \\ x = 40
