Solve the simultaneous equation below 2x+y=14

x = 10

y = -6

Answer:

2x+y= 14. (i)

x+y= 4. (ii)

multiple equation (ii) by 2 and subtracting it from (i) we get

2x+y=14

2x+2y=8

- - -

-y = 6

y= -6

now putting this valur of y in equation (ii)

x+ (-6) = 4

x= 4+6

x= 10
