x/5-y/2=0.......

on lcm both equation

4x+2y=48......(i)

2x-5y=0.........(ii)

multiplying (i) by 5 and (ii) by2 we get

20x+10y=48....(iii)

4x-10y=0........(iv)

eliminate (iii ) and (iv)

x=2

put x =2 in (i)

4(2)+2y=48

2y=48-8

y= 40/2

hence y = 20
