solve the simultaneous equation x-3y=1; 3x-2y+4=1

x = 3y + 1
.........(1)

3x - 2y = - 3
..........(2)

using (1) in (2)

3(3y + 1) - 2y = - 3

7y = - 6 \\ y = \frac{ - 6}{7}

x = \frac{ - 11}{7}
