Answer:

x = 6/7

y = 3/7

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this, we can equate the first two expressions first.

2x+y = 5y

2x = 4y

x = 2y

Now we will use this relation in second and third expression.

5y = 3-x

5y = 3-2y

y = 3/7

We have the relation x = 2y ((proved above).

Therefore x = 2×3/7

x = 6/7

Hence the value of x is 6/7 and of y is 3/7.

Answer :

x = 2 , y = 1

Solution :

Here ,

The given equations are ;

2x + y = 5 --------(1)

y = 3 - x --------(2)

Now ,

Putting y = 3 - x in eq-(1) , we get ;

=> 2x + y = 5

=> 2x + 3 - x = 5

=> 2x - x = 5 - 3

=> x = 2

Now ,

Putting x = 2 in eq-(2) , we get ;

=> y = 3 - x

=> y = 3 - 2

=> y = 1

Hence ,

x = 2 , y = 1
