SOLUTION

TO SOLVE

The simultaneous equations

2x + y = 14 and 2x - 3y = - 10

EVALUATION

Here the given simultaneous equations are

2x + y = 14 - - - - - (1)

2x - 3y = - 10 - - - - - - (2)

Equation 1 - Equation 2 gives

4y = 24

 \implies \sf{y = 6}

From Equation 1 we get

\sf{2x + 6 = 14}

 \implies \sf{2x  = 8}

 \implies \sf{x  = 4}

Hence the required solution is

x = 4 & y = 6
