x-y=2 and 3x+2y=16
x=2+y
now, substituting the value of x
3(2+y)+2y=16
6+3y+2y=16
5y=16-6
5y=10
y=10/5
y=2
x=2+y
x=2+2
x=4
thus, value of x is 4 and y is 2
x=2+y
now, substituting the value of x
3(2+y)+2y=16
6+3y+2y=16
5y=16-6
5y=10
y=10/5
y=2
x=2+y
x=2+2
x=4
thus, value of x is 4 and y is 2

Ahoy user!
Your question:-
x-y = 2
3x+2y = 16
The answer by substitution method:-
x- y= 2
=> x = 2+y.........(i)
3x+2y = 16 ...........(ii)
On putting the value of eq (i) in (ii)
We get,
3(2+y) + 2y = 16
=> 6+3y+2y = 16
=> 6+5y=16
=>5y = 16-6
=> 5y = 10
=> y =2
and so x = y+2
=> 2+2=4
hope this helps!
