GIVEN :-

The Perimeter of a parallelogram is 74cm.

Longer side is 5 cm more than the shorter

TO FIND :- Its sides

Before solving we should keep in mind that the opposite sides of a parallelogram are equal.

So... Let the Shorter side be x

Longer side will be (x + 5)cm

Perimeter = 2 (Sum of adjacent sides)

74cm = 2 ( x + x + 5)

=> 37 = 2x + 5

=> 32 = 2x

=> x = 16

If shorter side is 16cm then longer side will be (16 + 5)cm = 21cm

The sides of the parallelogram are 16cm and 21cm.

VERIFICATION :-

LHS = Perimeter = 2(16 + 21)

= 74 cm = RHS = GIVEN

Hence, LHS = RHS our answer is error free.
